Finding a job is an exhausting, overwhelming process full of resumes, cover letters, and self-doubt. Undergoing this process Senior year of college takes it to a whole new level of inconvenience, when it is interfering with the last few months of minimal responsibility and maximum fun. But unfortunately, college is not just a hub for good times. It is also an institution that imparts wisdom on its attendees and prepares them to enter the professional world equipped with the right tools. Some of those tools might lead students to being Entrepreneurs.

A trend has been emerging among college grads, and their response to graduation is shifting from “How can I get a job?” to “How can I make a job?” An increasing number of college graduates are choosing to use their newly certified knowledge and their eagerness for life to become Entrepreneurs.

What caused this sudden generational interest in being an entrepreneur? What is more appealing about starting your own entrepreneurial venture at 22 than working for someone else? There are three stand-out answers to this question: a great idea, the economy, and iconic entrepreneur Mark Zuckerberg.

We have all had that “Why didn’t I think of that?” moment. Our encounter with a product or service that seems so logical and so simple that it is mind boggling no one had come up with it sooner. So, how do we turn those ideas into making it as an entrepreneur? How do we become the entrepreneur who invented Post-Its? We have all stumbled upon a creative idea or an innovative solution. It is when you feel strongly about your idea and its potential that you get motivated that’s when you become an entrepreneur. The idea is a fraction of what an entrepreneur needs; it is typically the source of the passion that keeps Entrepreneurs going. It is that same passion that inspires a college graduate to turn their solution into an operating entrepreneurial business.

The job market, or lack thereof, is also giving college graduates a reason to take an entrepreneurial risk on their great idea. According to TIME.com, the unemployment rate is 54% for people under the age of 25 – discouraging circumstances under which to enter the job market for the first time. The difficulty of getting a job has pushed college students to take a chance on business ventures changing them to an entrepreneur.

Facebook may be the most recognizable entrepreneurial company around and Mark Zuckerberg the entrepreneur, but plenty of other students are making their own way. Libre, LLC was founded by four college seniors at Miami University studying Entrepreneurship. Their senior Entrepreneurship capstones required them to research and prepare a business plan then pitch it to investors. The future Entrepreneurs quickly realized their entrepreneurial idea was robust and took advantage of the time and resources they had as students to build a realistic plan they could implement upon graduation that spring. Libre designs and sells warm, comfortable clothing for chemotherapy and dialysis patients. Their clothing is available at www.LibreClothing.com and you may call 888-542-7349 or email Info@LIbreClothing.com for more details. The need of family members going through treatments is what brought this dream a reality for the young entrepreneurs.

Starting a business in college is great you have all the resources at your fingertips. The best reason to support or help a young entrepreneur — It’s a cycle, Entrepreneurs are building businesses and creating jobs for future grads all over the country. To get an entrepreneurial idea, think about things that cause inconvenience, discomfort, or dissatisfaction in your life and how you can make it better. Then start to plan and build a strong business that can help turn your dream of Entrepreneurship into reality.

Air pollution lawyers argued the permit was approved based on a faulty environmental study and the new permit lacks strict standards on procedures used for pollution control. Robert Graham, an air pollution lawyer representing one of the three groups opposing the permit, said that there is a need to thoroughly analyze the environmental impact the oil refinery has on the people living in the vicinity of the proposed area due to the massive environmental impact the oil refinery might have.
Circuit Judge Mark Barnett will decide on the matter soon, and fully expects the air pollution lawyers to issue an appeal to the South Dakota Supreme Court.

This issue is being actively pursued by the air pollution lawyers in hopes to prevent an environmental accident similar to the BP petroleum catastrophe in 2010. During the aftermath, Bell Legal Group (with its air pollution lawyers) filed a suit again British Petroleum for the oil spill catastrophe. Bell Legal Group (http://www.belllegalgroup.com) was the first South Carolina firm of air pollution lawyers to go up against BP Petroleum. Air pollution lawyers claimed that BP “intentionally and recklessly chose not to install proper safety measure.” Air pollution lawyers added that there is a great revenue loss on tourism because of the spill.

The abuse of senior citizens in nursing homes is one of the most common but under-reported crimes in South Carolina. Any type of physical or mental abuse inflicted on a person over 60 years of age can be classified as elder abuse. Elder abuse is defined as any knowing, intentional, or neglectful act by a caregiver or any other person that harms or poses risk of harm to an older adult. Though most common and easily detected, the elder abuse doesn’t always come take the form of physical abuse.
Emotional abuse is a growing problem among the elderly and can include verbal attacks, threats, rejection, isolation or belittling acts that cause mental anguish pain, or distress to an elderly person. Other types of elder abuse include sexual abuse, exploitation including theft, fraud or misuse of authority, neglect and abandonment.

South Carolina Elderly Could be at risk for Nursing Home Abuse

While research shows that 90% of elder abuse comes at the hands of a family member, nursing home abuse is a growing concern for the elderly in South Carolina and around the country. Nursing home abuse has serious impacts for the victims and victim’s families.

Bell Legal Group Understands the Law associated with South Carolina Nursing Home Abuse

The South Carolina nursing home abuse lawyers at Bell Legal Group have extensive experience representing residents of South Carolina who have suffered or watched a love one suffer from nursing home abuse.
One of the best ways to combat nursing home abuse is by simply understanding the different types of nursing home abuse and the factors that cause it. The following are not all, but some of the types of nursing home abuse:

-Physical abuse

-Emotional abuse, either psychological or verbal

-Neglect or abandonment by caregivers

-Self-neglect without intervention

-Sexual abuse

-Financial exploitation of elders

-Health care fraud or health care abuse

Congressional Study on Nursing Home Abuse Shows a Staggering Number of
Cases

Government sponsored reports have shown that a shortage of qualified healthcare professionals in nursing homes is one of the biggest causes of nursing home abuse. Each year an estimated 2.1 million elder citizens suffer some type of physical, psychological or other form of neglect or abuse, but unfortunately only one out of every 14 cases are ever reported. A 2009 congressional report revealed that nearly 1/3 of the nation’s 5,283 nursing homes have been cited for abuse, translating into a staggering 9,000 abuse violations from January 1999 to January 2001. Over 2,500 of these violations were serious enough to cause harm to a patient or to place patient in immediate jeopardy of death or serious injury. Ten percent of the nursing homes in the nation were cited for abuse that caused actual harm or worse to their elderly resident.

>> Between 1996 and 2000 the number of nursing home negligence cases doubled. Reports also show that many of the nursing homes have had multiple abuse violations. Evidence
showing 9 out of 10 nursing homes were not properly staffed, and as a result, were providing residents with inferior care.

A Study of South Carolina Nursing Home Abuse Shows Equally Disturbing
Numbers

A 2011 audit of South Carolina Nursing Homes by South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) revealed that there are 196 nursing facilities in the state equating to 20,079 licensed beds, and 481 residential care facilities that house an additional 16,768 beds. South Carolina is one of only seven states to be selected to participate in an initiative that began in 1972 call the Nursing Home Ombudsman program and has now become the South Carolina Long Term Care Ombudsman which investigates and resolves complaints about nursing homes and monitors the development and implementation of regulations, laws and policies affecting nursing home residents. Their 2008 report broke down the nursing home negligence complaint statistics in quick facts as follows:

Number of Cases
Opened 3,621

Number of Cases
Closed 3,464

Total Number of
Complaints 6,858

But if you can’t always buy organic for your juicing needs, you absolutely need the Super Angel Juicer.

Heavy metals and agricultural chemicals remain in the skin of fruits and vegetables even by the time you get them home. The twin gears of the Super Angel Juicer 5000 are accurately aligned so when it crushes the fruits and vegetables it leaves no room for the fiber to get into your pure juice. The 3 Stage Screen Filter Systems maximizes the pure juice yield from your fruits and vegetables, as much as 20-30% more juice extracted than other juicers. This screen system in the Super Angel Juicer contributes to the removal of solids and agricultural chemicals.

Nutrient packed vegetable marrow contains minerals, vitamins, enzymes, amino acids, complex carbohydrates and essential fatty acids necessary for good health. The Super Angel Juicer gently crushes the vegetable fibers. By completely crushing the vegetable fiber, these nutrients are released from the vegetable fiber. Not all juicers totally crush the vegetable fiber. The fiber must be completely crushed to release the maximum amount of nutrients possible. The Super Angel Juicer is the only juicer in the world that can extract the living calcium (Ca++) from the cellulose found in the stems of vegetables. This calcium is vital for your bone and body health and with the Super Angel Juicer you will get just that.

The 3 horse power crushing force will not only crush fruits, vegetables, stems and fibrous leaves, it will also crush seeds such as grape seeds. Grape seeds contain vitamins A, C, E and B-6 and minerals, such as magnesium, potassium and polyunsaturated fatty acids.

There will never be any metal shaving in your juice from the twin gears because they are made from solid sues 304 Stainless Steel. These gears are 8 3/8 inches long, longer than other juicers. They turn at 86 rmp, producing juice with a longer shelf life.

Be free to consume all the fruits and vegetables you want with the Angel Juicer. It not only juices all types of fruits and vegetables, it will juice pine needles, rosemary, wheatgrass and kale to mention just a few difficult to juice items. You can make your own nut butters, soy milk and you can grind soaked beans and grains with the Super Angel Juicer.

You can pick up one of these Super Angel Juicer products by logging onto veggiesensations.com.

Whether it’s for the high return on investment – nearly 69%, according to the National Association of Realtors – or merely for upgrading a dated style, kitchen remodeling is one of the most often requested home improvement projects. But, it turns out, many homeowners decide to remodel their kitchens because of an underlying cause that they might not realize. They feel cramped in their kitchen, not necessarily because of its inadequate size, but because of inefficiencies in the space. Joe Gelletich, a kitchen designer with Signature Kitchens, Additions & Baths, described a project he recently worked on in which this was the case. “I’ve found,” Mr. Gelletich said, “that a number of homeowners want kitchen remodels because they feel cramped in their space and want to start fresh.” “We didn’t have to increase our space,” the homeowner said. “Some people want to make their kitchen bigger, but our space was already big – It just wasn’t utilized properly.

Gelletich said, “that a number of homeowners want kitchen remodels because they feel cramped in their space and want to start fresh.”

“We didn’t have to increase our space,” the homeowner said. “Some people want to make their kitchen bigger, but our space was already big – It just wasn’t utilized properly. The original floor plan, from the 70’s, was a mess.” The original kitchen was separated into a dining and a cooking space by an arch wall. However, with the cabinets and appliances along the wall on the one side, there was a wide-open space between the dining and preparation areas.

Gelletich explained that the first step in maximizing the space in this kitchen remodel was the removal of the outdated arch. That simple improvement made the relatively large kitchen feel more like a unified space. At first the homeowners had wanted a kitchen island for its usefulness and style.

“We used a computer modeling program to see what adding a kitchen island would do to the space,” Mr. Gelletich said, “but we found that it just broke the larger kitchen into two very separate spaces that didn’t feel unified.” Instead of a kitchen island he suggested they try seeing how a peninsula would fit into the space.

The peninsula was installed in the center of the kitchen, as an offshoot of the main cabinetry along the wall. The peninsula proved to be a great way to separate the dining and cooking areas while simultaneously keeping the space unified. A cabinet-based peninsula can be a great tool for a large space like this because its countertop can be used both for food preparation and dining.

Signature Kitchens, Additions & Baths, a leading home design and remodeler in the Washington, D.C. area, provides its services to homeowners looking to transform their home.

In a day when the internet is ubiquitous, and booking a cruise on your own is easy, many think that that using a travel agent is passé and unnecessary. According to market research conducted by the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), nearly half of cruisers (forty-eight percent (48%)) believe that booking a cruise on websites or through strictly online travel retailers (like Expedia or Travelocity) provide the best rate, while only seventeen percent (17%) believe the same about a conventional travel agent. The same research revealed that a growing percentage of cruisers — thirty-two percent (32%) in 2011 compared to twenty-six percent (26%) in 2008 – are booking a cruise online rather than through a conventional travel agent. But does the widely held belief that the best deal is found online ring true? Probably not.

For starters, booking a cruise directly with the cruise lines is rarely, if ever, the best option. By doing so, you have no advocate should something go wrong. In addition, you may well pay more money for your cruise than if you book elsewhere. The reason for this is that reputable travel agencies block “group space” on departures on many cruise lines. You can take advantage of the group rates and group amenities that result, even if you are not sailing as part of a group. These group discounts can save you as much as $1,000 or more per person, depending on the cruise line and departure you select. In addition, group amenities often are available, and can include generous spending credit to use on your cruise, complimentary specialty dining experiences, prepaid gratuities, or other amenities that enhance your trip and save you money.

Booking a cruise with a large, strictly online retailer may be no better. These retailers draw from the same inventories as conventional travel agents, and contrary to the beliefs of many, may not save you any more money than a conventional travel agent. More importantly, they provide less personal service than a conventional travel agent would provide to you.

A good travel agent specializing in cruises can prove invaluable when booking a cruise. He or she can make recommendations to you about what cruise lines fit your needs best, can identify current and upcoming promotional opportunities, can make meaningful recommendations about stateroom selections, and can arrange spectacular customized shore excursions and pre and post-cruise stays to allow you to make the most of your experience. Best of all, you may not have to pay anything for this professional advice. This is because the cruise lines pay travel agents a commission for your booking.

This is not to say that all conventional travel agents are the same. As in any profession, there are better travel agents than others. When booking a cruise, here are some suggestions for selecting a reputable and good cruise specialist:

Ask your cruise specialist how many cruises he or she has sailed on, and on what cruise lines. You would be surprised by how many travel agents who book cruises have never themselves taken a cruise. I once met an individual who had worked for a large online travel retailer. She sold cruises, but had never sailed on a cruise. I asked her how that was possible. She responded by telling me that only a few people asked, and usually only asked whether she had sailed on the specific cruise line of interest to them. She would simply tell them that “I haven’t sailed on that cruise line,” never mentioning that she had never sailed on any cruise line.

Ask your cruise specialist whether he or she is CLIA-certified. To achieve certification, travel agents must undergo extensive training and have sailed upon a certain number of cruises.

Ask your travel agent whether his or her travel agency is a preferred partner with your cruise line of choice. Travel agencies that only book a small volume of cruises are likely considered an “inside account” by the cruise line, meaning they may have limited access to the best deals available, and also likely earn less commission, giving them limited room to provide any amenities or discounts.

Be wary of a travel agent that provides you indiscriminate options. I have seen travel agents offer clients a half dozen or more options without any meaningful advice. A good travel agent will ask you questions to discern what cruise line(s) are the best match for you, and then make one or two recommendations to you that most appropriately fit your needs.

Ask your travel agent about both booking fees and cancellation fees. Bear in mind that appropriately researching your cruise options takes time, and you should not begrudge a good travel agent expecting to be compensated for his or her effort. Booking and cancellations fees, however, can vary dramatically and you should be aware of them upfront. My company does not charge a booking fee when booking a cruise, and charges only a modest cancellation fee of $100 per person. Other travel agencies, however, can charge as much as 15% of the total cruise fare, or more. Know before you book.

Pay attention to how your travel agent treats clients. My company, for example, seeks to develop a lasting relationship with our clients, and is intensely focused on delivering top-notch service. The best way of course to find out about a travel agency’s reputation is to read their reviews and ask for references.

With the advent of the Internet, booking a cruise can be done with just about any travel agent across the country. Our clients come from many of the 50 states, Canada, and from countries around the globe, even though we are a brick-and-mortar business. This is likely true for many reputable travel agencies in North America. Nothing says you can’t book your cruise with a travel agency in Washington State even if you live in Oklahoma.

A travel agency may actually be able to book you on a cruise that the cruise line says is sold out. For example, my company is a top 50 account in North America for Oceania Cruises. We frequently have rooms within our allotments on Oceania Cruises that are unavailable elsewhere.

Finally, a good travel agent should be able to make meaningful recommendations to you regarding shore excursions and pre and post cruise stays. These can immeasurably enhance your cruise.

Developing a relationship with a reputable travel agent can prove invaluable. It can save you money and, more importantly, can save you from making a costly mistake.

An internet marketing guru used to say that the formula for profitable website design is “eyeballs + heart = money.”

He meant that your website has to capture someone’s attention (eyeballs) and win their interest (heart) in order to get them to buy from you or take action (money).

Winning eyeballs means having a site that is visually appealing. It uses a nice color scheme, the elements on a page are easy to spot, and when someone is looking for a particular kind of information, that information is easy to find.

Winning hearts means having great content that exactly meets the visitor’s needs. How do you know what they need? You’ll do the research in your industry to know what kinds of challenges they have and solutions they’re looking for. Then you’ll do keyword research to find the search terms someone would use to find those solutions. Then you’ll salt your site with those keywords. You’ll also provide excellent content that relates to their challenges and positions you or your company as an expert.

Winning money can mean buying something from your site. It can also mean getting someone to take an action, like click a “like” button, input his or her email address, or call you.

How Do You Know What’s Working or Not?

Great website design isn’t just measured by how well it gets people to take action. After all, if a website doesn’t win money and that’s your only measure of success, how will you know what to fix? It might be one small detail that’s causing the failure, or it could be a whole mess of things. If you’re only measuring one variable (money), you’ll be changing things at random trying to correct the problem.

A Better Way to Figure Out What Works

Measuring your website design involves using site analytics and studies in website interaction. Through something like Google Analytics, you can know how long someone spends on your page, where they came from and where they go to next, what pages most interest them, what keywords they used to get there, and so on.

Your website hosting account should give you easy access to the “back end” of your website. That will allow you to do “split tests” and change variables in color, placement of elements, and offers. If a blue banner doesn’t work, maybe a red one will.

Finally, great website design does you no good if your hosting company isn’t reliable. Website hosting companies can vary. You want to use one that has a high (99%+) up time, plus large or unlimited disk space and bandwidth. Many hosting companies also offer add-on features that can make your life easier, such as WordPress hosting, apps, and user-friendly site management features.

With a great design and a reliable host, you’re on your way to internet success!
